APPOINTMENTS, CANCELLATIONS, & COMMITMENT TO THERAPY
- Please remember to cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance. You will be responsible for the entire fee if cancellation is less than 24 hours. Attending your scheduled appointments is essential to the therapeutic process. Progress cannot be made without a commitment to attend your sessions. Therefore, once a client has canceled (24 hours in advance or not) three times in a row, therapy will be discontinued until the client is ready to commit to therapy. You will not be able to schedule appointments on line and will need to reach out directly with me to discuss resuming therapy. If you do not show up to your appointment within 20 minutes of the scheduled time OR text/message/email or call with your reason, your appointment will be considered a no-show, and you will be charged for the session. You will need to contact me directly to schedule another appointment.
CREDIT CARD ON FILE
- All patients must keep a credit card on file. You are financially responsible for all costs at the time of your appointment. If your credit card is declined, I will notify you immediately, and you will be able to update the credit card or enter a new card into the patient portal. Sessions must be paid at the time of service, and if they are not, future sessions will be canceled.
CREDIT CARD INFORMATION
- Sessions must be paid with a credit card that is on file. Health savings cards are accepted as well as all major credit cards. I do not accept cash, checks, Venmo, or Pay Pal.
SUPERBILLS
- Superbills are provided at no cost on a monthly basis. You also have access to these documents in the patient portal.
INCREASE IN RATE
- Your current rate is subject to change. I will notify in you advance of this increase.
SESSION LENGTH
- The standard meeting time for psychotherapy is 50-55 minutes. It is up to you, however, to determine the length of time of your sessions. Requests to change the 50-55-minute session needs to be discussed with me in order for time to be scheduled in advance.
PHONE CALLS BETWEEN SESSIONS
- Phone calls are treated the same as in person sessions in terms of fee/rate. Calls are billed in increments of 15 minutes.
REQUESTS FOR LETTERS OR FILLING OUT FORMS
- Requests for a letter or filling out forms on your behalf for school or work must be made at least a week in advance of when they are needed. A writing and service fee of $25 will be charged to your account.
COORDINATION OF CARE WITH OTHER PROVIDERS
- Should it be necessary for your treatment, I will correspond with other providers on your treatment/healthcare team. This is charged to your account based on my hourly rate, with a minimum flat fee of $35.
REQUEST TO READ EVALUATIONS OR TEST RESULTS FROM OTHER PROVIDERS
- Should it be necessary for your treatment and at your request, I will read and conceptualize tests and valuations (i.e. neuropsychology reports) for coordination of your care. This is billed at my hourly rate.
ON CALL AVAILABILITY
- My business is a solo private practice so that means it doesn't include on-call availability, meaning phone calls outside of sessions unless they are scheduled. If it seems like you have things to talk about frequently, it’s best to collect all of your questions/thoughts over the week and then either set a phone session to talk or an in-person appointment. I don’t have a type of practice that has on-call or retainer options for communications.
EMERGENCY
- Should you have an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Be aware that email or text communication is not advised during an emergency situation. If you feel you are in danger of hurting yourself or others, call 911 immediately.
COMMUNICATION THROUGH TEXT AND EMAIL
- Please note that as per my practice policies, email and text messages should be about scheduling and other logistics regarding your appointment or care. Text and email is not to be used to respond to any kind of crisis or any kind of question that belongs in a session. I do not conduct therapy of any kind in email or text. If you have information to share with me, please use the message system in the patient portal. If you have further questions about this, please let me know.
VACATION
- I will let you know in advance if I am going to be on vacation. While on vacation, I will not be reading and responding to any messages (email, portal, text, or voice mail).
